GeoRoom 2.0 Announced with Improved Integration Options

HOUSTON, TX, September 1, 2004 – R7 Solutions announced today the  release of GeoRoom 2.0, its industry-leading application for  integrating geographical and business data sources across the enterprise  and providing web-based desktop access. The product will be offered as a  part of R7’s comprehensive GIS consulting, solutions, and hosting  services. R7 Solutions is a Houston-based information technology firm  specializing in geographical information systems and integration.

The updated version of the software, currently in use by Hess Corporation for enterprise-wide cataloging of the company’s geophysical exploration and production data, includes improvements to integration tools for Documentum, FileNET, Laserfiche and Microsoft Sharepoint.

User preferences and favorites have also been enhanced to provide a more customizable user dashboard, and the metadata management database and scalability of the system have been improved. A configurable full-text, location-aware search engine is also now included, providing powerful new ways to sort, index and search enterprise content.

The application’s basic advantages include the use of a single, intuitive user interface for non-technical users of enterprise GIS and business information, rapid integration with existing enterprise GIS systems, a metadata structure for quickly adding access to legacy data sources, and powerful configuration and personal preference features.

The system is built using industry-leading, off-the-shelf technologies such as Microsoft .NET and ESRI GIS components and can be integrated with Oracle or MS SQL Server databases running ArcSDE.
