Welcome to the new R7 Solutions blog! We’ve decided to provide a more immediate and accessible forum for sharing news and announcements about our products and services, articles on best practices for BPM, GIS integration and document management, and general enterprise software resources.
We’ll continue to publish press releases in the Press Center and we will also be publishing interesting client commentary and clippings in our Client News section.
This is a great time to be working in GIS, business process management and document management. 2010 is an especially exciting time for all forms of location-based services, geospatial apps, web mapping and GIS.
There has been an explosion of interest and popularity, technological development and accessibility over the last 3 years – even more than we would have anticipated, and we’re eternal optimists about geospatial.
While 2009 was reported to have seen only a 1% increase in the growth of the GIS industry, 2007 saw 17.4% and 2008 saw 11%. Industry leaders are predicting a return to around 11% growth in 2010.
As established experts in the development and hosting of sophisticated web-based GIS applications, particularly those that integrate with valuable public and private data sources, we have been watching these changes from the middle of the action.
Please return as we explore the latest and greatest trends in both consumer and enterprise mapping; desktop, server and web-based applications; and the new ocean of spatial data flooding our databases and subscription services.
BPM, ECM and business intelligence are doing pretty well, but this is a great time to be mapping!
